Gan had met his wife in university, and they spent a lot of time together during those days. He used to get teary-eyed when he would send her off at the bus station, as they lived far apart otherwise. He would always wave earnestly as tears rolled down his eyes. Now, they have long been married with two children.
Gan came across as a very cheerful and polite man when we first met him. He started opening up to us when he spoke of his wife, reminiscing the days he would get teary-eyed when he would have to be apart from her. He even confessed that although he may not speak or write much of love, his heart is filled with the love and longing he has for his strong and genuine queen.
We started with the teardrop in the middle, it represents where their story had started while the heart shaped frame around it symbolises their enduring love after so many years. The many pearls encircling the piece, epitomises their patience and dedication in enduring all the challenges that came with building their lives and raising a family together.
Like all people who are in love, they have undergone blissful ups and the rough downs of a relationship, including receiving objections from their families to be together. Despite that, they have chosen to hold onto one another.
Over one of their family dinners, Gan presented this piece to his wife. As he told her the story of their love, tears once again rolled down his cheeks. This time, so did hers; down her cheeks as she felt the love of her husband. She then hugged her two sons saying:
